Patients in Leiria’s Hospital de Santo André had to be evacuated from the casualty department today after heavy rains brought down a false ceiling. The situation appears to have been exacerbated by ‘clogged guttering’, explain sources. No-one was hurt, and hospital staff are understood to have turned up from home to help with the clean-up operation.
