CCTV footage led police to the suspect of a home break-in at Dunas Douradas in Almancil recently.
The Portuguese man, 49, had entered the vacant property and stolen valuable items, including jewellery.
The man was identified and arrested after the GNR analysed CCTV footage collected from the site. He is also said to be connected to burglaries in the Almancil and Faro areas.
At a court hearing on January 27 a judge ordered the man to report regularly to the police station until a date is fixed for sentencing.
