Local charity Helping Hands in The Algarve continues to fundraise for a variety of worthwhile causes including the Bombeiros, disadvantaged families, and horse-riding lessons for children with cerebral palsy.
On December 5, Helping Hands in The Algarve organised a dinner and quiz at the Fonte da Pedra Restaurant in São Brás de Alportel.
A meal was enjoyed by regular quizzers and several new to the monthly quiz nights. This was followed by a quiz supplied by Tonie Lawton who compiled questions around a Christmas theme for all to enjoy.
A total of €413 was raised from the dinner and quiz, supplemented by a donation of €315 by a quizzing couple who prefers to remain anonymous, bringing the total to €728.
Furthermore, 30 Christmas presents were donated for delivery to the Casa da Primeira Infância children’s home in Loulé and other disadvantaged children and adults.
