A judge at Braga’s Court of Criminal Instruction has decided that Chega MP André Ventura, two other recently elected representatives of the party (which is now Portugal’s 3rd political force) and the owners of a restaurant, are all to be tried for the crime of disobedience. The case refers to a political dinner (during Ventura’s bid for the presidency of Portugal) which took place at “one of the most critical times of the pandemic” when restaurants were closed to diners and working only with ‘take-aways’.
