Portugal’s public services (Loja’s de Cidadão, Finanças, Registos e Conservatórias) are all reopening to the public today, without the requirement for pre-booked appointments. This next step in recovering former ‘liberties’ has been led by the fact that over 70% of the population is now fully-vaccinated. UPDATE: the announcement belied the reality: the various services were inundated with people, all having to queue in huge discomfort, sometimes for many hours. Various reports attest to ‘chaos’ as the vast majority of these public service facilities are completely unprepared for a sudden ‘return to normality’.
