The much-loved British actor and Algarve resident Clive Dunn has died at the age of 92, the Algarve Resident learnt at the time of going to press on Wednesday. He is best known for his role as Lance Corporal Jack Jones in the BBC comedy Dad’s Army.
The comedian died earlier this week from a complication following an operation, the British press reported.
Clive Dunn, who leaves his wife, Priscilla Morgan, two daughters, and grandchildren, was born in London in 1920 and has spent the past 30 years living in the Algarve, where he occupied himself as an artist, painting portraits, landscapes and sea views until his sight failed.
His agent, Peter Charlesworth, said the star would be “sorely missed” and his death is “a real loss to the acting profession.”
The Algarve Resident extends deepest condolences to Clive Dunn’s family and friends.
