Construction worker João Sepúlveda Lopes had only just returned to his job after time off for a work-related injury when he was hit by a 12-ton beam in a tunnel in Venda Nova. The 47-year-old father of one was killed instantly, reports Correio da Manhã newspaper. The tragedy happened on Monday as Lopes was working on reinforcement work for the Venda Nova dam.
