Wednesday’s DGS Covid bulletin shows that incidence and transmission in Portugal is steadily increasing, in spite of the fact that over 86% of the population is fully-vaccinated. With third booster shots already being rolled out among the most vulnerable, the reality is that numbers being admitted to hospital have been increasing, and outbreaks of SARS-CoV-2 are once again being registered in old people’s homes (where residents and staff have all been inoculated).
