Covid incidence on Portuguese mainland down to 59 per 100,000; Rt at 0.95

Ahead of the next announcement on restrictions – to come after tomorrow’s Council of Ministers – today’s Covid bulletin has shown that incidence is down nationally to just 59 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. The country’s Rt is at 0.95. Two people have died in the last 24-hours with Covid-19, there were 387 new cases registered against 513 ‘recoveries’. Tomorrow’s announcement (expected to come from prime minister António Costa) should be decisive for a number of boroughs which are still ‘suspended’ in various stages of deconfinement and desperate to be given more freedom to operate.
