Craft fair and fun day in aid of firefighters

A charity Craft Fair and Fun Day in aid of Algarve firefighters is taking place on Saturday, May 12 at the Almádena social centre from 1pm.

There will be more than 30 arts and crafts stalls, selling everything from jewellery, soaps and stained glass to aloe products, teddy bears, pyrography and artwork from members of the Algarve Society of Artists.

Nicola Move-Ment dance school will perform two shows and the Western Algarve Community Choir will sing throughout the afternoon.

For foodies, there will be an ice cream bike, roast pork served in a bap or wrap, and cream teas and cake stall. Donations of homemade cakes or savoury food are also welcome.

Proceeds will go to Associação Alerta de Incêndio Florestal (forest fire alert association). Funds raised will be used in times of actual fire to provide firefighters with clothing, food and drink.

To get to the Almádena social centre, turn right at Brodie’s bar and restaurant on the EN125 coming from Lagos, direction Luz, Burgau and Vila do Bispo.

For more information, call Liza on 914 185 021.
