A MAN from Guinea in Africa was arrested near Lisbon’s Portela airport by the PSP on Tuesday for concealing cocaine inside his body.
A tip-off led the PSP to suspect that a passenger travelling to Portugal from Guinea-Bissau would be transporting drugs in his stomach.
Police followed the 45-year-old man until he was isolated and identified, being immediately transported to the nearest hospital where 720 grams of cocaine were removed from his stomach. The drug was wrapped in 76 packets, which he had swallowed.
