A large quantity of drugs were found by police in an underground hiding place in an abandoned fish-paste factory in Mexilhoeira da Carregação in the Algarve, and resulted in the arrest of five individuals accused of trafficking and one of them for possession of a firearm. GNR officers discovered 166 doses of cocaine and 1,152 of heroin along with €2,063, a pistol, 12 mobile phones and a variety of equipment used in the preparation and sale of drugs.
