€280 million construction deal with Qatar

Portuguese construction company MSF has signed a €280 million contract with the Qatar Public Works Authority to build roads and infra-structures in the industrial area of the city of Doha.

The works are scheduled to begin on January 5 next year and should be completed within two-and-a-half years.

Speaking to Lusa news agency, Carlos Bernardino, director of MSF, said that the work involved constructing new water systems, sidewalks and pavements, as well as works to public lighting and similar.

The deal was signed when Bernardino met with Qatar officials on a trip to the Middle East accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Paulo Portas and more than 40 other entrepreneurs.
