Dear Editor,
Having read your story on the pharmacies and the crisis they are enduring over the medicine pricing policies (last week’s edition), I would like to ask your readers if they have noticed how empty the shelves at these establishments look.
I recently had to visit a few pharmacies looking for a medicine that clearly cannot be found anywhere! As I really needed it that day, I decided to visit all the pharmacies in my area.
During my tour, I realised just how bad the situation is. The shelves containing the hair and beauty products, as well as other products that don’t require a doctor’s prescription, appear pretty empty.
But worse than this was the fact that no pharmacy appeared to have the medicine I was looking for. At the end, I had to ask my local pharmacy to order it for me. As a result, I had to go two days without my important medicine.
I know the crisis is affecting all sectors of the economy but it is a shame to see that pharmacies, which we all rely on for vital medicines, have been hit so badly.
