Portugal does not need more time to fulfil its financial adjustment plan, according to International Monetary Fund deputy director Jörg Decressin. “The pace as a whole strikes us now for this year and next year as appropriate,” he said. Decressin also said that austerity in countries like Portugal has not been as intense this year and predicted a rebound of growth.
