TAP FLIGHTS from Lisbon to Angola may be suspended after an Angolan aviation agency took retaliatory action against a European Union (EU) security decision.
According to an Angolan newspaper, INAVIC, the country’s air traffic authority, decided to forbid incoming European flights in response to the EU’s banning of all flights by TAAG, the Angola state airline, in EU air space following publication of a security report.
The European Commission (CE) has still not officially informed member states and Angola about its final decision on the report, which was produced by its Air Security Committee.
Among other airlines affected is British Airways, whose flights to Angola were cancelled last weekend.
