Young people in Portugal are showing “very high levels” of expectation that life is a long way from returning to normal – and this is worrying experts like Carla Nunes, director of ENSAP-NOVA (the national school of public health) reporting to the meeting at Infarmed this afternoon on the social aspects of the last 18-months of pandemic. It is in the youngest citizens that levels of anxiety are highest, she told her audience, particularly those aged between 16-25 who are suffering the “worst states of mental health” in comparision with older age groups.
