EXAMPLES OF nuisance emergency phone calls have been revealed by Central Scotland police, based in Stirling, to raise awareness about the importance of responding to real life or deaths emergencies.
These calls included one woman who dialled the emergency number, 999, to complain about a rabbit she had bought in a pet shop, whose ears were not floppy as promised in the newspaper advert.
Another two people also dialled the number to complain after being splashed by cars in wet weather, one of them verbally abusing the call handler when told that it was inappropriate to use the number.
