Portuguese energy giant GALP is due to announce a partnership with Swedish company Northvolt for a lithium refinery to be constructed in Sines. This is the ‘breaking news’ on the energy front today, understood to include agreements with mining companies already operating in Portugal, like British-based Savannah Resources (due to extract lithium from the Barroso mines in Boticas). An official announcement is expected tomorrow at an event in Lisbon.
