A German woman sought by German authorities for tax evasion was remanded upon arrival at Faro Airport last Tuesday (October 16). The 39-year-old was recognised when entering passport control, after taking a flight from the UK. In a statement, the national border control authority (SEF) said: “A European warrant for the arrest of the woman had been issued by the German authorities for the crime of tax evasion and she was caught in Faro.” The woman is now being held in detention and awaits extradition to Germany, confirmed the SEF.
