Government green-lights purchase of another 117 trains

The government has authorised CP (Comboios de Portugal railways) to buy 117 trains. The decision coming out of the Council of Ministers implies an expense of €819 million. Just over half the trains (62) will be used on urban lines – particularly the busy Cascais line running in and out of Lisbon – while 55 will go into service on regional lines.
