New outbreaks of Colvid-19 in old people’s homes in Guarda are being reported. At least two institutions have seen 50 residents infected with Covid-19 after being fully-vaccinated (and post the requisite 14-day period following second vaccinations). The infections have been logged since February. Right now, seven residents are in hospital and one, an 87-year-old has died. Ana Isabel Viseu, Guarda’s public health coordinator stresses these casualties are nothing like (as bad as) numbers experienced before the vaccination programme.
