Heart attack pays bills

A MAN from Milwaukee has been accused of faking heart attacks to avoid paying restaurant bills and taxi fares.

Police in the US city have said that the 52-year old man took a taxi to a shopping centre on Monday and then pretended to have a heart attack leaving the taxi driver unpaid.On another occasion the man left an unpaid bill in a restaurant after he suffered another fake heart attack.

The scam was unveiled by a doctor who recognised the man from a couple of weeks earlier and reported it to police. The man was charged with defrauding a restaurant as a habitual criminal and he could receive a nine month prison sentence and a 10,000 dollar fine.
