A MAN in the US was shot in the leg after a dog stepped on his gun during a pheasant hunt.
The man had placed his rifle on the ground to collect a fallen bird when the dog stepped on the trigger and shot the man at close range. Although his injuries were not life threatening, it will take him a while to recover.
This type of accident is not uncommon and in the US, it occurs a couple of times a year, when hunters have not been more careful to put the safety catch on their guns.
