In the dog house

A NEW law has been passed in Lima, Peru, to try and curb the problem of noisy dogs.

Citizens in the city will now only be allowed one dog if they live in an apartment while those living in houses will be permitted two dogs.

It is hoped that by reducing the number of dogs in homes it will stop complaints by citizens about the noise levels in residential areas caused by barking dogs.

Animal lovers opposing the legislation have said they will move to other areas rather than give up their pets.
