HEALTH CENTRES in the Alentejo and Algarve regions are at risk of not having air conditioning systems installed before the summer.
A report from a Portuguese newspaper said on Tuesday that a total of 47 health centres were waiting for the approval from the Tribunal de Contas, which authorises public expenses, to buy the equipment.
The health centres network is included in the national emergency plan against heat waves, presented in May in the Algarve.
