Pedro Pinto Leite for the DGS has told this morning’s meeting that hospital admissions due to Covid-19 are below the level of alert, while intensive care admissions are ‘well below’. Omicron has resulted in the percentage of positive tests ‘skyrocketing’ to 10% (when previously established red lines set the limit at 4%), but the consequences are not causing excess deaths. Numbers in hospital are increasing nonetheless. In Lisbon, for example, numbers entering hospital have recently ‘doubled’.
