In a video message published over social media today, defence minister João Gomnes Cravinho has commemorated International Women’s Day with the news that, at the end of 2021, women made up 13.2% of Portugal’s Armed Forces. It is an almost 2% gain on the situation in 2018 and shows, he believes, that Portugal’s policy for gender equality is gaining ground.
