The work of the late António Crisógono dos Santos, who captured Lagos on camera in the early 20th century, is on show at the Dr. José Formosinho Municipal Museum in the town until January 27.
The exhibition aims to celebrate the photographic legacy left behind by Crisógono dos Santos, who is considered one of the most highly regarded photographers ever to live in Lagos.
Born in Sertã in 1862 but a resident of Lagos for many years, the photographer was known for his unique eye when capturing day-to-day scenes that are now an important part of the town’s heritage.
