Ponta da Piedade lighthouse is undergoing restoration work, announced the Portuguese Navy.
Due to improvement works to the tower, the lighthouse is currently closed to the public until further notice, said the maritime authority.
The lighthouse, standing 51 metres tall on the Ponta da Piedade, was built between 1912 and 1913. Its tower measures five meters in height.
