TRAFFIC FLOW in Lisbon’s Saldanha area will suffer delays and diversions from this week, due to work being carried out by Lisbon Metro. The work will last around nine months because a second metro, Saldanha II, will be under construction. The work will cause traffic diversions in Avenida Defensores de Chaves at the branch between Avenida João Crisóstomo and Avenida Duque D’Ávila. The branch between Avenida Duque D’Ávila and Rua Praia da Vitória will remain unaffected from the south-north direction, but in the opposite direction, from north-south, traffic will be re-routed along Avenida Duque D’Ávila, Rua Dona Estefânia and Avenida Praia da Vitória.
