CHINESE AUTHORITIES punished three police officers for arresting and fining a couple for hugging in public on Chinese Valentine’s Day.
The couple paused to embrace while out walking and officers jumped out. They were not allowed to leave until they paid 5,000 yuan (487 euros) and when they posted their complaint on a website, officials stepped in. The fine was returned and the officers punished.
