From June 21, anyone visiting Madeira will not be expected to present a negative PCR test taken up to 72-hours prior to flying. A negative ‘rapid antigen’ test (taken 48 hours previously) will be enough. These should not be confused with do-it-yourself autotests, warns president of the Madeiran government Miguel Albuquerque. Rapid antigen tests are already offered by many pharmacies.
