MPs have approved alterations to the existing law governing motorhomes and caravans, to allow their occupants to overnight outside of approved parking sites “for a maximum period of 48 hours in the same municipality”. The decision comes after the law that came into effect in January effectively restricted motorhomers from parking anywhere other than authorised sites (click here). The revised law will still prohibit parking in protected and/ or coastal areas. MPs have also recommended that an online geo-localisation platform is created, to which free-wheeling travellers will be expected to sign up to.
