A MAN was arrested on Friday (August 17) suspected of murdering an elderly man he rented a room to in Lisbon.
According to the Judicial Police, an altercation allegedly took place between the 35-year-old man and the 70-year-old lodger last Thursday. It is believed that the man killed the lodger and put his body into bags and placed him in a wardrobe.
The victim’s wife reported him missing and suspected the accused was involved as he had stolen from them several times in the past. The suspect will remain in preventive custody pending his trial.
