PAINTINGS OF naïf art, including some of the work by Portuguese artist Manuel Castro, can be seen at the XXVII Salão International de Pintura Naïf art exhibition at the Galeria de arte do Casino Estoril until September 15.
This exhibition of Naïf art is spontaneous and colourful and includes artists from several countries. The emphasis on this form of art is that it cannot be taught or learnt and any painting technique is acceptable, with several of the artists only beginning their painting careers after retirement.
