POLICE ARRESTED a 22-year-old American man for swimming naked in the historic Barcaccia fountain at the bottom of Rome’s Spanish Steps.
He stripped off in front of a group of tourists and jumped in, before being hauled away to the local police station, where he was charged with committing an obscene act. The incident occurred less than two weeks after a drunken man was arrested for driving his car down the Spanish Steps.
