Naked dancing

HUNDREDS OF disco workers took to the streets of Kathmandu, Nepal, on Monday, to protest against a government crackdown on naked dancing.

This crackdown was part of a government plan to improve the country’s deteriorating law and order, which has led to police raiding many establishments and detaining around 1,500 people who worked where naked dancing was allowed.

Police official Sarbendra Khanal said bar owners and clients would be charged under the public offence act, which could lead to one year in prison and a large fine.

Protesters claimed this move will jeopardise their businesses and make thousands of people jobless.
