Portimão’s new job centre, currently under construction, is expected to be completed in September.
The future Centro de Emprego e Formação Profissional, located at Caldeira do Moinho, near Portimão Arena, will provide assistance to the unemployed in the Portimão, Lagoa, Silves and Monchique councils.
Covering a total area of 7,000sqm of land provided by the Câmara, the new employment and professional training centre represents an investment of €5.5 million and includes a sports complex.
The existing job centre, near the Rua do Comércio in the city centre, is proving too small for the large influx of people using the services.
