SANTANDER, THE largest banking group in Spain and controller of the Totta group in Portugal, has chosen Lisbon as the location for a new major operations centre to provide administrative support to all its European branches.
By the end of this year, the group, led by Emílio Botín, will contract more than 300 staff for the new centre, which will be located in the suburbs of the capital.
