PRODUCTS IN Portugal are around 20 per cent cheaper than the 15 main countries in the European Union but Portuguese salaries are around 40 per cent lower.
This data has come from the Organisação para a Cooperação e Desenvolvimento Económico (OCDE), organisation for Cooperation and economic development.
Even though products are cheaper, the salaries are still too low which means that people earning Portuguese salaries cannot make savings. Portuguese minimum wage is currently at 437 euros per month.
