Associação Obrigado Bombeiros held their first golf tournament on Saturday, July 6, raising €2,320 towards the ‘Bombeiros de Silves Fire Truck Appeal’.
The charity golf event took place at Gramacho Pestana Golf Resort and welcomed 42 players for an 18-hole, pairs stapleford competition, followed by lunch. All of the golf fees and 20% of the lunch price were donated, together with proceeds from the raffle and course competitions.
The tournament winners were Mrs D. Lepaumier and Ms R. Lepaumier. Finishing in 2nd place were Mr A. Pacheco and Mr C. Scartezini, and in 3rd place Mr Mike Stevenson and Mr Morgan Stevenson. The “longest drive” for ladies competition was won by Christine Parry and the winner of the men’s “longest drive” was Mr Amândio Pacheco. The “nearest the pin” competition winner was Barrie Sheehan.
