PORTUGUESE PARENTS are sending more and more of their children to Spanish schools.
According to the Spanish Ministry of Education, around 10 per cent of the expatriates from different European nationalities studying in that country are Portuguese.
Last year, the Spanish educational system registered 7,729 Portuguese students in the primary and secondary schools. This number represents an increase of 1,500 students or 24 per cent compared with the previous year (2005/ 2006).
According to the Spanish Ministry of Education, the number of Portuguese students in university grew about 73 per cent since 2002.
