THE NATIONAL pharmacy association is to launch a credit card that will give discounts on medicines that do not require a prescription.
The initiative has been formulated in conjunction with the Caixa Geral de Depósitos bank and will come into effect next year.
Points accumulated on the card for medicines bought in pharmacies will be converted into discounts when purchasing non-prescription drugs and other products.
João Cordeiro, president of the national pharmacy association, said: “This project is still in its initial stages, I am not going to comment so as not to spoil the surprise.”
