A zoo in the northern city of Vila Nova de Gaia is celebrating the birth of one of the most endangered species of deer in the world. The little Philippine deer has yet to be named, and zookeepers say it is too soon to determine its sex. What is important is that it is healthy and enjoying life with its parents in their enclosure.
There are only 2,500 Philippine deer believed to be living in the wild so this new arrival is considered a special bonus.
