It started on Tuesday and is running until tomorrow, taking Olhão back in time to the era of pirates, plank walking and golden doubloons.
The town’s pirate festival takes place from 6pm to 10pm with highlights being a pirate market outside the town’s municipal market, street entertainment and a theatrical show every night in front of the ancient ‘Bom Sucesso’ ‘postal boat’.
Admission is free.
