A SLIGHT majority of online readers believe that in light of the events in Armação de Pêra on September 4, where a woman was shot in the face with an air rifle, the Algarve is still a safe place to live and vacation. A total of 54 per cent of voters do not believe that the Algarve is becoming unsafe, whereas 35 per cent do believe that the region is becoming progressively more dangerous and 11 per cent were unsure or did not have an opinion.
