Car production in Portugal is in free-fall. Between January and August, the number of cars produced (97,159) nationally fell 9.5% compared to the same period in 2015.
August also registered a 36% drop in figures, according to data from Portugal’s automobile club (ACP).
VW Autoeuropa, Peugeot Citroën, Mitsubishi Fuso Truck Europe and Toyota Caetano are the groups that manufacture vehicles in Portugal.
