Portugal’s five ‘main banks’ charge customers €4.4 million per day

Portugal’s five main banks – CGD, Millennium BCP, BPI, Santander Totta and Novo Banco – charge customers €4.4 million in interest/ commissions every day. In the last nine months they have made well over €1.5 billion – CGD responsible for almost half this amount. Explain reports, these profits are 10.3% up on profits made in the first nine months of 2020. Commissions on money transfers are where the most money is taken.
