In an extraordinary study that took place at the end of the summer, Expresso newspaper reports that despite the ongoing economic crisis, 69% of Portuguese are happier than they have been for years – and 67% are just plain happy.
The data collected by market research organisation GFK involved “psychologists, psychiatrists, doctors and other specialists” and the comments of 1,211 people over 18 years of age.
The bottom line, says Expresso, is that “surprisingly, in spite of the huge economic crisis rocking the country, the majority of Portuguese people show themselves to be happy”.
